Last week was my first week selling at Downtown Silver Spring Farmers Market. It was my first week selling for my own business instead of for someone else.

I’m fortunate to have good neighbors. I am fortunate to have good neighbors on all sides of my farm who have chickens.

Recently, I got some mystery tomatoes from a farmer friend. They’re a mystery because he messed up the labels. I was visiting his farm to buy some parsley plants, but he said I could have the tomatoes for free, and I couldn’t say no.

Keep Step Farm will be selling at the Downtown Silver Spring Farmers Market starting in mid- May! This will be the first market I’ll be selling at as a farm owner.

After graduating from college, I went to work as a Chesapeake Conservation Corps. Member (think Americorp but for Maryland) at ECO City Farms in Prince George’s County.

As the saying goes, if you don’t have a fence, you don’t have a farm.
