Sh*t Happens
A Broken Truck Window
Inside the truck
Outside the truck
I’m a little late sending this out. There were just too many things going on this week. The back windshield of my truck broke into a million pieces on Friday. This is not the worst thing that can happen on a farm, but it’s definitely not the best either. It’s normal for farm vehicles to get dents and scrapes now and then, but I need to see out the back window— no backup camera on my truck. It’s a lot darker with all the black tape.
I didn't have time to send out the newsletter on Thursday because I was too busy. Kucheh, a Persian Art Studio in DC, invited me to be a vendor at their Jomeh (Friday) Market. I had fun but the lead up threw off my rhythm. Too busy Thursday harvesting both markets and too busy Friday washing everything and loading up the truck to go to DC
As my Dad was sliding in tables in the back of the truck to get ready for the Jomeh Market, the metal hinge of one of the tables went a little too far and hit the corner of the back window, causing the whole thing to crack. Knowing we were running out of time, we quickly taped it up and left. We didn't have any clear tape.
Looking back, going to another event the day before my regular Saturday market at Silver Spring (which everyone should come to) was thrown way off. Sometimes you have to move fast to seize the opportunity, but move fast, you miss details.
So the back window needs to be replaced. Problems are not a bug; they are a feature of life and farming.
