One step at a time.
Humon Heidarian started Keep Step Farm in 2025 about 30 minutes away from where he grew up in Rockville, MD. He believes regeneratively grown food sold locally strengthens local economies and improves soil health.
He did not grow up farming but he’s heard stories about his grandparent’s orchard and chickens. His parents taught him the importance of eating fresh food and cooking at young age.
Before starting his own farm he worked at ECO City Farms and Common Root Farm in Maryland and volunteered at Faithful Farms and Ten Mothers Farm in North Carolina. Before starting his own farm, he worked in many other areas of the food system from lobbying for small- scale farmers to selling pickles in Washington DC.
When he’s not farming he is performing standup comedy around the DC area. Follow the farm and his comedy on IG @humanhumon
